Ukraine celebrated the 35th anniversary of its independence on Monday (August 24), with current and former U.S. and European officials visiting Kyiv.
The U.S. delegation included former Vice President Mike Pence and Keith Kellogg—who served as Special Envoy for Ukraine under President Donald Trump—both of whom traveled to Kyiv over the weekend. Senators Richard Blumenthal and James Lankford also attended the anniversary celebrations.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on X that he met with the two senators at a National Prayer Breakfast in Kyiv on Sunday and briefed them on Russian ballistic missile attacks.
